I know. It’s a little late, but this is my deal so stick it.

I’ve been using a Canon 350d for the last few years. It takes kickass pictures. I also took the best photoshop class in the known universe last semester @ TMCC. SO, putting the two together is time consuming. My monthly challenge: edit and upload (at least) one photo a day.

While we were racing, hiking, and camping in Sierra City for Three days, the cat was crapping on my ski helmet stuck in the basement as a Raccoon tore up the mudroom and gorged itself on cat food. The muddy footprints are disconcerting, but that bandit’s going down.

Here’s a picture of me drinking a beer in Ely last Saturday. This does not qualify as breach of my Monthly Challenge for the following reasons.

1) I was so tired I couldn’t taste it.
2) It was purely medicinal.
3) I had just finished riding Squaw Peak, which you see behind me, and descending same, being the only rider at the Tears Fears and Beers Ely Enduro willing to do so.
4) As a result of #3 I won said race.
5) It was White Pine Brewing Co. beer and the only beer I consumed that weekend after spending tons of time in bars and restaurants.
6) What I really wanted was another Gatoraide and a bag of Chewy Chips Ahoy!

dirtage
Worked in the yard again today. It’s great to live where we live. Kevin dropped in four times over the weekend on his way to and from work, and because, “it’s faster than calling.” Dave stopped by on a ride. PJ did a drive by. I think I saw Andy. And Ryan Jerz stopped by to say hello.

I have been reading his blog and commenting, but we both agree that blog-mmenting and blog-nonymity have their places, but a little human contact is still pretty nice, especially when you live in the same neighborhood!

Anyway, shoveling for two days takes it’s toll on flimsy arms like mine. Here’s what I did to move that last two yards of topsoil:

Still no beer. Made it through a BBQ and everything!

I thought what happened in Vegas Stayed in Vegas? WTF did MS:NBC out this pathetic fuck? immoral? Wrong? Huh? Almost makes you wonder what people think about freedom these days. Is TBS Discriminatory against Jews cause of the pork?

Last beer of MAy

On another note: This was my last beer until July. Rode to the end of the bike path in sparks then downtown and up to Virg/Sierra and down. Good ride on a fixie. Picked up this 22ouncer on the way home.

I’ve got the Tour de Nez and Fears, Tears and Beers this month to attend, participate and enjoy sans brews. I’m not too concerned about it.

This is the last day of May and the last day of the Bike to Work Month Challenge. Mr. Rambler, whom I met for pints of Guinness the other day at Ceol (my favorite new bar with it’s no smoking, no gaming and friendly owner, Ron) rode over 500 miles on his cross town commute. I rode significantly less than that, but did ride every day and only bought groceries once by car and that was for P-Quad.

I got to thinking the other day about the idea of making a challenge a monthly feature of my life. Something to make me think about why I do the things I do. So with that I present the June Challenge:
