Six degrees of Reno bacon

it’s pretty incestuous here… -Kyle Kozar
So yesterday I was chilling with the RBP drinkin’ PBR and chatting with Kyle, Noah, Mike, Reid, and the gang. The above quote came from me asking questions about how they came together, got hooked up with the people they’re hooked up with.
I rolled from there to meet Smella and Mr. and Mrs. RenoRambler for pints of Guinness @ Ceol. As we were getting ready to leave, the bartender, Scott, asked me if I knew Nat Pellman, which I do. I guess he heard me mention the 24 hour race I did last may and thought there might be a connection, even though Nat moved to Seattle a year ago.
So there you go colinloretz
( Web host service purchased along with a new domain name for a social experiment I want to do. “Six Degrees of Reno” anyone?)
and mrjerz:
(six degrees? you’ll have a hard time getting to three).

I couldn’t agree more with that quote from me. Having gone to college here and worked in several different places, all while being married to someone who also went to college here and worked in cooler places, it’s almost impossible to meet someone who doesn’t already know several of our friends. It’s pretty cool, really.

After reading The Tipping Point, I find those close ties and relationships between the denizens of Reno pretty fascinating.
I would love for http://www.sixdegreesofreno.com to become a visual interpretation of those relationships. For example, http://www.wefeelfine.org ( a cool site to check out) visually maps the relationships between associated feelings of bloggers and their posted content on the web.
And, if for some reason I don’t find the time to put it together, maybe it can transform into a social reno blog. Either way, I hope to put it to good use.

Yeah, the visual thing is lacking. The standard blog thing is to pepper the hell out of your readers with inline links, mostly to other blogs that confuse, divert, and irritate. (Myrna, I’m looking at you.)
