I hope none of the bikers got the whoopass that was being handed out to the animal kingdom. There was a party making a career out of the North Arete when we descended Bear Creek Spire. I hope they had either bivy gear or good lights, or both because Cox Couloir is nothing to sniff @ in daylight.
They moved the car that had hit the cow before they moved the cow. Perhaps the car drove off. Perhaps not. I suppose the economic value of roadkillcow precludes the necessity for a special tow truck attachment. How DO you move 2000 pounds of inanimate beef on-the-hoof?

Looks like an amazing trip (not counting the road kill)! Rock Creek, in the same area I think, is supposed to be an excellent mountain bike trip. I guess you connect Sand Canyon and Rock Creek. Never done it yet…
It’s pretty sad to see all the road kill along the side of the road when riding your bike.

Right, the sand Canyon Trail. Did that a while ago. Not much of it is singletrack. Most is Dirt road, and a lot of that is insanely steep and loose. It starts from Rock Creek Lake I think and is sort of hard to find ends either at Holiday Campground or Tom’s Place or you can link up to Lower Rock Creek. Would make a gnarly loop ride from Paradise…
